Valentino Calavera (often nicknamed Val) is one of the main titular characters of Victor and Valentino. He is Victor's half brother.
Appearance
He's about taller than Victor, albeit chubby, has apricot skin, messy dark brown hair, and wears a red-orange shirt, white shorts, and dark brown shoes.
Personality
Valentino's signature personality include prioritizes art and quality on whatever he does. On top of that, he has a habit of collecting items, and is restless until his collection of a certain item, such as vintage coins or keyboards, is complete. As shown in The Dark Room, he has a passion for photography. However, he isn't good at sports, particularly soccer, leaving him vulnerable to being belittled by Victor.
Nevertheless, throughout the series, he shows a more mature personality compared to Victor. He often shows responsibility in taking care of him, especially in the midst of their mischief adventures. When they're not in their adventures, he is usually in charge of Chata's food cart.
On some occasions he is shown to be immature, in A New Don he is very excited about pranking Don Jalapeño, in another episode, Los Cadejos, Val holds a grudge against Victor for telling his secret that he still slept with a Teddy Bear (Senior Bubbles or Cuddles) and refused to "Squash the Beef" until he saw that Vic was in danger.
Being the more mature out of the two, Valentino (along with Vic) both get yelled at by Chata.
Although Val is typically nice, there's people that he's viewed "weird" including Guillermo, Reynalda and Reynaldo, Charlene and Pineapple (sometimes).
Relationships
Victor
Victor is Valentino's younger half-brother. They enjoy having fun together, though they don't always see eye-to eye. They both care for each other and Valentino could never stand to see his brother in danger, but Victor's immaturity and recklessness, often gets them both into trouble.
Chata
Isabella
Valentino and Isabella are very close friends. He met her sometime after he and Victor arrived in Monte Macabre for their summer vacation. They share many of the same interests and Valentino genuinely values her opinions. It is later revealed that Valentino has developed a crush on Isabella.
In The Dark Room, He took inspiration from Isabella after his application to Baker's photography club was rejected. She encouraged him to keep trying, and after his search for the Chupacabra ended, they ended up founding the Bubblegum Factory Photo Club together.
They are also known to engage in regular activities, such as in Fistfull Of Balloons, where Isabella is seen sitting with Valentino listening to him read.
In Decoding Valentino, Valentino invites Isabella to explore the ancient library. He was excited to have her come along for the trip, and tried his best to demonstrate his exploration skills to her. However, as their journey progressed, Valentino quickly grew jealous of Isabella's proficiency with solving puzzles and instead tried to prove that he was just as good if not better than her. When Isabella got caught in the final trap, He refused to listen to her and insisted on solving the puzzle alone, resulting in Isabella scolding him for putting her in imminent danger. This caused Valentino to realize how his attitude has been hurting her feelings, and listen to her instructions to solve the puzzle and set her free. After they make it back to the surface, Valentino thanks her and compliments her on her puzzle solving skills, causing them both to blush, indicating that they have a mutual crush on each other.
In Starry Night, Valentino's crush on Isabella had grown noticeably more intense. He was surprised and happy to see Isabella at the Reyna's outdoor slumber party, and enjoyed talking and laughing together until Isabella told her story about the Tzitzimime. Valentino refused to tolerate Victor's rudeness simply because Isabella was there and wanted to make the most of it. During the campfire in the woods, Valentino was completely fixated on Isabella, from eagerly listening to her every word, to blushing profusely every time she leaned in closer to him. He was blissfuly unaware that she was possessed by a Tzitzimime until Victor pointed it out. After Isabella was seemingly freed from the Tzitzimime, Valentino called out to her to check if she was ok, and she responded by offering to go temple hunting with him again sometime. As she left, Valentino eagerly waved goodbye and saw her off, gazing amorously as she walked away.
In Las Pesadillas, It has been shown that Valentino dreams about Isabella quite often, such as when he dreamt of her waving hello to him and tried run towards her to no avail. When Tez attempted to persuade Valentino to stay in his dreams forever, It wasn't until Victor transformed into Isabella that Valentino was able to come to his senses and strike back against Tez.
In Plan-De-Monium, Valentino invited Isabella over for a day of fun activities together, and was excited for her to arrive. He organized every part of the itinerary very carefully as he wanted to impress her. When they were listening to Valentino's jazz records, Isabella took Valentino's hand and asked him to dance, causing him to blush profusely. Unfortunately, it was cut short by Chata deciding to join in the dance. Next, he tried to impress her with an aztec civilization board game, but his plans were disrupted by Victor's attempts at magic. He continued ahead to cooking mixotes with Isabella, but Victor once again ruined Valentino's plans by accidentally spilling magic smoke all over him. Dinner finally came, and Valentino was certain it would impress Isabella, until Chata and Victor arrived have dinner with them. To make matters worse, Cammy and Huitzi got into a fight over a mixote and Valentino ended up covered in sauce, causing Isabella to laugh and his frustration to grow. When nightfall came, the two headed to the rooftops the watch the "Tongue of Fire" Comet. Isabella commented how she never gets tired of looking at the night sky, which made Valentino blush and reply stating he does too. Valentino's anger came to a head when Victor's last magic trick ruined his telescope angle, resulting in him lashing out at everyone and subsequently missing the comet. Valentino ends up being miserable after that, but then Isabella came up and told him that he didn't have to miserable tonight.The episode ends with the two of them dancing together on the rooftop, as Valentino declared to Isabella that he was going to be more improvisational in the future.
In The Matchmaker, Valentino started his own matchmaking service after successfully matching two couples. When Isabella asked him who she would match with, he struggled being true to his feelings for her, even though every answer she gave was clearly about him. Valentino went through his calculations and knew too well that He and Isabella were a perfect match. When the two met again, Valentino tried to be honest, but was still worried that Isabella was too good for him. So he paired Isabella with Ramon instead, sending the both of them on a trajinera ride for their date. Valentino thought he made the right choice pairing up Isabella with Ramon, but when Victor told him about the possibility of his life without Isabella, he raced off with Victor to the embarcadero to stop the date. Fearful that Isabella and Ramon's date was succeeding, Valentino swam onto their trajinera to break them up, much to Isabella's frustration. Valentino wanted to bring the trajinera back to shore. Isabella tried to stop him, but Valentino tripped backwards knocking them both into the water. When they returned to the shore, Isabella called Valentino out on his ignorance and told him face to face that she liked him and no one else. Realizing the mistake he made, Valentino finally mustered the courage to tell Isabella that he liked her back, and how he was afraid that he wouldn't be good enough for her. To Valentino's surprise, Isabella held his hand and told him that he doesn't have to be afraid to like her anymore. The two blush and accept their true feelings for one another.
In Pokin and Proddin, Valentino was surprised to see Isabella in Tez's administration and lost his composure for a moment, but quickly recovered as to maintain his disguise.
In Jump Scare, It is heavily implied that the two have entered an official relationship as they have taken part in several dates together, albeit unsatisfactory due to Victor's self-inclusion. Valentino tried to keep their movie date a secret, but to no avail.
In Another Don, Valentino and Isabella were excited to attend an artisanal root-beer brewery together, but their date plans were overshadowed by Chata's missing water vessel. At first Valentino was sad to cancel their date plans, but then Isabella happily volunteered to help him. After interrogating Don and the frutas vendor, Isabella had to leave to meet her mom for "mani pedis", but promised Valentino that she will return when he's ready to solve the case. Isabella then gives him a kiss on the cheek, leaving him dazed and enamored. After losing sight of the fake Don, Victor and Valentino followed the trail to a dark cave, where they discovered the numerous fake-skins, as well as Isabella dancing happily around a roaring fire. The two were confused as to what she was doing in the cave until Isabella removed her fake-skin and transformed into her real, monstrous self, much to Valentino's horror. Valentino was so shocked by the revelation that he passed out after Isabella fled the cave.
In Starry Eyes, Valentino denied any possibility that the monster he saw was Isabella. While searching through town, Valentino realized that he never knew Isabella's phone number, where she lived or even met her family. With that, He began to have doubts about his crush's identity until Isabella suddenly appeared at Don Jalapeno's shop. Valentino rushed over to embrace his missing love interest, stricken with tears and concern. Still overcome with relief, Valentino believed Isabella's explanation, and accepted her invitation to meet her mother. Despite Xochi and Victor's warnings, Valentino defended his "girlfriend" and walked off into the desert with Isabella. When they reached the desert, Valentino expressed his concern for Isabella, who then took his hand and reassured Valentino that she was right there with him. Unaware of what she actually was, Valentino kept openly commenting on how repulsive the monster was to Isabella, prompting her to attack him and carry him off to the moon until Victor, Don, and Xochi stopped her. After a short scuffle, Valentino continued to question the monster about the "real" Isabella. When the monster confirmed that she truly was Isabella, Valentino was shocked and simply continued to deny it and restated that she was a monster. Feeling heartbroken and betrayed, Isabella fled into the sky towards the moon, leaving Valentino calling out to her in desperation.
In A Simpler Life: Ayohuih Nemilitzli, Valentino was depressed over his recent break-up with Isabella.
In "Star Child", Valentino was shocked that Isabella was hiding from him and that she was lying to him all this time. He angrily tells Isabella that he doesn't want to see her again as she runs away, heartbroken.
In "Fall of the Fifth Sun", Isabella arrives at the last second to save Valentino before she gets thrown into space by Tez as punishment for her betrayal. In her final moments, she tells Valentino and Victor that they can still save Monte Macabre by finding their grandfather. As her body disintegrates in space, her final words to Valentino is that she was glad that she finally got to know him as Valentino becomes devastated and heartbroken over the loss of Isabella.

Charlene is one of Valentino's rivals, alongside her brother Pineapple.

- Valentino ate lunch alone when he was in 2nd grade, which was a devastating time for him, implying that he didn't have friends in that grade.
- While his name is Mexican, he speaks in an American accent. Inversely, his younger paternal half-brother has an American name, but a Mexican accent.
- Valentino is the only character to appear in every episode, while Victor was absent in one episode.
